About Hawk Tree Studios
Built From the Tree Up
Hawk Tree Studios was created from a simple idea—take what nature has already made beautiful and turn it into something that lasts for generations.
I’ve always been drawn to the character in wood. Every grain pattern, every imperfection, every curve tells a story. Instead of covering that up, I build around it—bringing out what makes each piece one of a kind.
What started as a passion for working with my hands has grown into something much bigger: a commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and creating furniture that actually means something.
My Story
While on military duty in Alabama, I was living in an empty apartment with an assignment that gave me lots of free time. To keep myself occupied, I started building my own furniture. My first project was an bed frame that I slept on during my stay there. Though, those first project left a lot to be desired, I had discovered a secret passion. Woodworking.
I built Hawk Tree Studios from the ground up—learning, investing in tools, and taking on projects that pushed my skills further each time. Along the way, I realized I didn’t just want to build furniture… I wanted to control the process from start to finish.
That’s why I began sourcing my own logs and milling them myself.
There’s something different about working with a tree from its raw form—knowing where it came from, how it was cut, and how it’s transformed. It adds a level of intention and connection you just don’t get with pre-milled lumber.
Every project since then has carried that same mindset: do it right, do it fully, and never cut corners.
What I Build
I specialize in custom, one-of-a-kind furniture designed to stand out and last.
That includes:
Dining tables
Desks and office spaces
Conference tables
Bed frames and shelving
Custom statement pieces
More…
Many of my builds feature unique elements like wood or metal inlays, live edges, and carefully selected slabs that highlight the natural beauty of the material.
No two pieces are ever the same—and that’s the point.
My Philosophy
At Hawk Tree Studios, the goal isn’t just to make furniture. It’s to create pieces that feel connected—to nature, to your space, and to the people who use them.
I believe:
The best pieces start with the right material
Natural character should be highlighted, not hidden
Quality should outlast trends
Furniture should be built once—and built right
Whenever possible, I work with locally sourced or reclaimed wood, giving new life to trees that would otherwise go to waste.
The Process
Every build starts long before the first cut.
From sourcing logs and milling them myself, to drying, designing, and crafting the final piece, each step is done with intention and attention to detail.
When you work with me, it’s a collaborative process. We’ll talk through your vision, your space, and how the piece will be used—then design something that fits exactly what you need.
This isn’t mass production. It’s custom work, built specifically for you.
More Than Just Furniture
At the end of the day, I’m not just building tables or desks.
I’m building pieces that people gather around. Pieces that become part of your home, your work, and your life for years to come.
That’s what drives everything I do.
Let’s Build Something That Lasts
If you’re looking for a custom piece that stands apart—and stands the test of time—I’d love to work with you.
